We have synthesized different alkali metal peroxychromates and K3NbO8 doped with K3CrO8crystals based on rare oxidation state of Chromium (V).We have studied their spectroscopic properties using EPR and pulsed EPR. Coherent spin manipulation on Cr+5 (S=1/2 , I=0 ) , constitutes a dilute two level model relevant for use as a spin qubit .Rabi oscillation are observed for the first time in a spin system of transition metal oxide even at room temperature. At liquid helium temperature spin-spin relaxation time (T2) is ~10 ?s and with a Rabi frequency of 20 MHz, we get a single-qubit figure of merit QM of about 500. So, dilute ensemble of Cr+5 doped K3NbO8 is important in solid-state quantum information processing.
