I had the great fortune to receive a Nobel Prize in Physics for using electron tunneling to measure the energy gap in superconductors. In this talk I will recollect some of the events that led to this discovery and hopefully I will be able to convey to you some of the fun and excitement of that area. My great fortune was to be at the right place at the right time, where I had access to outstanding and helpful physicists. If you become really interested you may find a written version in my Nobel Prize talk: “Electron Tunneling and Superconductivity” on the web site https://nobelprize.org
